Well, there hasn’t been much training going on lately here at Wolf Moon. We’ve had rain though, so that’s good. Calypso dug a big hole behind her house and the house slid into it last night and I had to pull it out this morning. She never uses her house…
I’ve been keeping up with the cyber sled dog world as much as possible and I wanted to share some of my favorite sled dog blogs I visit.
Zoya’s Kennel Journal - the blog of Iditarod musher, Zoya DeNure, of Crazy Dog Kennels. I also read Zoya’s Life With Belly And Baby journal.
Noatak Kennels Sled Dogs and Mushing - the blog of Noatak Racing Kennel, run by Jacques and Magali Philip. This kennel is right next door to Northern Sky Lodge, where I worked last March.
SC Dogsled Team Training Journal - the blog of fellow Southeastern musher, Chapin Burgess. Blog has not been updated recently.
Manitou Crossing Kennel Blog - the blog of Iditarod mushers Jen and Blake Freking and their Jedeye sled dogs.
Husky Homestead - Blog of Iditarod champ, Jeff King’s Husky Homestead kennel.
The Bikejoring Blog - UK blog about bikejoring and related dryland sports.
Lagniappe Kennel — Alaskan Husky Sled Dogs in Chugiak, AK - Blog of a recreational sled dog kennel. Just recently came across this one.
And last, but certainly not least, are the Sleddoggin.com Blogs.
I read other blogs on occasion but the ones I just mentioned are the ones I routinely read!
Enjoy!

Hi Alice, The Jack London movie was made in Canada for TV in 1997 and had 3 dogs play the part of Buck. Type the movie title and the info websites will appear. No new entrys in Zoya’s or King’s site lately. You will have fun with all those puppies in Minn! Checkout Mike and Sue Ellis’s website, http://www.teamtsuga.com. They ran the 2008 Yukon Quest with a rookie team of Siberian Huskies and set a record for the Fastest Siberian Team. Nice article on them in the latest issue of Mushing Magazine. I was a sponsor along with a number of other people for the HowlnWind Siberian Husky 2008 Yukon Quest team that had to withdraw after the first 100 miles of the race. Checkout their website, they deleted everything about their Yukon Quest involvement! I adopted one of their veteran sled dogs, Yasmin Magic, this last Dec 2007. Her dad ran the 2007 Iditarod as a leader, Troika’s Orion. She ran with her dad in the Newfi Run(1000 miles) in 2005. She will be helping me train my other fur kids this Fall and Winter. Stay Cool, Dave

Hi Alice, Checkout http://www. Siberians USA.com, look in the Archives for a two part interview article on Kristari Kennels. I found this while reading the article on Mike Ellis’s 2008 Yukon Quest adventure with his Siberian team. Dave
