I’ve always really liked this song but when I heard it in the airport today, after feeling torn about leaving GA this morning, it really struck a chord with me. Things there are getting better but it was still hard to leave.

BREAK AWAY
By Kelly Clarkson

Grew up in a small town
And when the rain would fall down
I’d just stare out my window
Dreaming of what could be
And if I’d end up happy
I would pray

Trying hard to reach out
But when I tried to speak out
Felt like no one could hear me
Wanted to belong here
But something felt so wrong here
So I prayed I could breakaway

I’ll spread my wings and I’ll learn how to fly
I’ll do what it takes till I touch the sky
I’ll make a wish, take a chance, make a change
And break away

Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won’t forget all the ones that I love
I’ll take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And break away

Wanna feel the warm breeze
Sleep under a palm tree
Feel the rush of the ocean
Get on board a fast train
Travel on a jetplane, far away
And break away

I’ll spread my wings and I’ll learn how to fly
I’ll do what it takes till I touch the sky
And I’ll make a wish, take a chance, make a change
And break away

Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won’t forget all the ones that I love
I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway

Buildings with a hundred floors
Swinging round revolving doors
Maybe I don’t know where they’ll take me
But, got to keep moving on, moving on
Fly away, break away

I’ll spread my wings and I’ll learn how to fly
Though it’s not easy to tell you goodbye
Got to take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And break away

Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won’t forget the place I come from
I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And break away…

I have not heard that song but the words really tell the truth! Kelly wrote a very insightful song. This years American Idol has some very good singers with personality. My favorite is Crystal followed by the gal that can hit the hit notes and the fellow with the Bruce Springsteen voice from Chicago. Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter and the joys of a beautiful Spring!

Believe it or not, I have never watched “American Idol” except for maybe a few clips. I actually bought Kelly Clarkson’s CD a few years back without realizing who she was, only that I liked the songs on it!
I am a music junkie, as I have mentioned before, and love listening to different artists.
All the best to you and your family as well!
