Spring is here, with blue skies and warmer weather (too warm for many cold weather lovers). Jen’s baby shower was last Saturday and that was a lot of fun. I got to see friends and fellow mushers and Jen recieved quite the pile of baby gifts! On a related note, Phil’s room in the bunkhouse has been…

In the meantime, Kim and her boyfriend/fiance, Jake, have left for Australia. So I am currently the only handler at MCK. This doesn’t bother me although the bunkhouse does seem quieter, as does lunchtime. But there are still doggies to play with and work with and a fast-growing Alcan-puppy to pay attention to.

Still it does feel kind of strange being the only handler again. It’s been a while since that’s happened. Maybe since August. In any case, I wish Phil, Kim and Jake good travels.

I see you also have “lookout” duties at Fort MCK! Mighty nice looking log structure you are sitting on! I am sure you are the most valuble handler now at the kennel! The other humans are gone but you are surrounded by a human’s best friend and their are dozens of them. Best wishes to Jen and the baby, Blake, you and the rest of the fur kids!

I am sitting on the front porch of Blake and Jen’s cabin! A bigger cabin is currently being built since there will be a new addition to the kennel, end of May!

It is great to have all those dogs to play with every day. That’s why we do what we do!
