Well, I finally got around to taking a picture of my new Subaru Outback. I’m quite proud of my little ‘Ru (I’ve started calling it Shuttlecraft. Don’t ask) and am very much enjoying it.

In other news, the dogs are very much enjoying the new lower yard. They are starting to wear little paths through the trees and digging holes and chewing on any underbrush they think looks fun or tasty.

The pack hanging out in the lower yard.

The pack looks pretty happy in the expanded backyard! Nice looking “Ru”! What year is it? Have you thought how you are going to transport Calypso and Susan in the Ru? Wire crates or tie outs to a floor anchor? Sam’s Club sells these nice closed cell interlocking foam mats(8 per pkg) black on one side and colors on the other side. I use them over the dog van carpeting and in the RV as floor covering, waterproof, easy to sweep or vacuum up the dirt and debris the dogs track in the vehicle! Have a trailer hitch on the Ru for mounting your scooter/bike rack? Check out JC Whitney’s online catalog for ideas. Keep cool!

Hey Alice! Good lookin’ southern sled dog truck Looks like your guys are having a blast in their new area. We expanded out further in our woods here too and the dogs have been going crazy digging around their stakeouts and eating young brush. A job in itself to scoop in the leaves tho! LOL

Yeah, we LOVE the lower yard. I’ve been wanting to expand the pen for a long time now. It’s almost too bad we head back North in a couple of weeks. We probably won’t be back to enjoy the lower yard for over a year.

Dave - Shuttlecraft is a 2004 model. We found it used at a dealer in Athens, GA. It has a few dings and scratches but runs really well. Calypso and Susie will be riding in a crate in the back (I’ve already checked and yes it does fit!). This is going to be quite the roadtrip! Stay tuned for the scooter rack that my Dad and I invented!

Jessee - great to hear from you! It IS different searching for poop in the leaves! Sounds like your pack is having a blast too. They do love to shred small trees, bushes and grapevines.

Alice
