Sorry for the lack of postings lately. EVERYTHING happened. The flu put a damper on my training for a while and April had to have her wounds drained and my cat was sick for a while. Then I had to get ready to go and go to Alaska.
I’m currently working at Northern Sky Lodge near Fairbanks. There are 22 Alaskan huskies here and I have finally learned who is who. I’ve been scooping poop, hooking up dogs for people going on sled dog tours and other dog chores, as well as doing things in the B&B.
Northern Sky is beautiful. This afternoon I took a walk through the spruce forest and it was unreal! It snowed all morning but not enough to add much to what was already on the ground.
The big sled dog news is that Lance Mackey won the Iditarod AGAIN! Next he is going to run the All Alaska Sweepstakes. Being in Alaska, I hear a lot about this everywhere and from everyone.
Will write more later.
