It looks to be another awful scorcher today. Will be plenty of squirting Calypso with the hose and bringing her inside. This is no weather for a sled dog. I’m so glad we’re heading North soon.
It rained recently. Really rained. It POURED. The result was that there was a lot of mud in the dog pen and it was a big MESS. I am very glad the pen is on a slant because otherwise it would have been like a lake.
Anyway, I was out there in the mud, cleaning up, when I noticed a big hole. The dogs had started it a week or so earlier but the rain and water had really cleared it out. I noticed an odd orange-looking patch peeking out of the ground. I poked it with a stick and it felt like rubber.
I began digging around it and the object started to take shape. Round…orange…
It was a basketball. The thing was nasty and had been buried for a long time. Yuck!
Calypso had no interest whatsoever in the basketball.
April, however, had a great time with it!
So you never know what you’ll find when cleaning up! I’m glad I found this because it could have been dangerous had I not gotten it out.
Stay cool!
